11TH Annual Veterans Memorial 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, November 8th, 2025, American Legion, Horace Orr Post 29, in Marietta, GA. will host its 11th Annual Veterans Memorial 5K Run/Walk!  The Race begins and ends at the Marietta Square for its 5K Run/Walk & Wheelchair participants with a start time of 7:30 AM and a family friendly Tot Trot at 8:30 AM!

 

Prior to the Race in November, a Wine Tasting Event will be held at the Marietta Wine Market on Saturday, August 9th between 2pm-4pm. 

 

American Legion, Horace Orr Post 29, reports that the Veterans Memorial 5K has raised over $870,000 in the previous 10 years for their designated charities!  Their goal is to reach $1,000,000 this year from the many generous sponsors, supporters and participants that continue to make a difference for the following Charity Partners: 

1. The Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, located at the Clay National Guard Center, helps current members of the Georgia National Guard facing unexpected emergencies and financial hardships.

2. The Shepherds Men Share Military Initiative in Atlanta cares for veterans and their families suffering from TBI and PTSD by providing a lifeline of support.

3. United Military Care, based in Marietta, assists veterans with one-on-one assistance for a variety of needs and services. They also host state-wide "We Care Vet Fairs" and programs to help veterans find employment, housing, financial assistance, food , clothing, and mental health assistance.

4. The American Legion Service Office of Post 29 which assists in helping veterans with short term needs - utilities, housing, food, auto-repair, etc.
